19.02.2006 , Nokia Facing VoIP Patent Infringement Lawsuit
German telecom provider, Teles has filed a lawsuit against Nokia for patent infringement against the firm’s VoIP phone.
A Teles statement about the action claims that Nokia’s new 6136 handset infringes on a patent pertaining to “GSM fallback” functionality.
Teles also says that it is also planning addition lawsuits against several other companies, which provide “line-switching fallback” functionality between fixed and mobile networks. The German company has hired several Washington law firms to handle possible violations in the United States.
