23.02.06 , Zignal to Launch New IPTV Service Delivery Platform
Zignal, a provider of IPTV software solutions and devices, will launch a new service delivery platform at London’s IPTV World Forum in March. The new solution will deliver a range of revenue-generating IPTV services through a single solution, and services will be accessible from a number of standards-compliant digital media receivers like set-top boxes, smart phones and remote controls.

The new solution is the result of two years of intensive research and development. Services enabled will include digital television, video-on-demand, personal video recording, online gaming and digital radio. All services will be accessible through a customizable user interface. The interface is based on usability and behavioral studies, and is significantly faster than industry-accepted standards. Zignal also uses a super-fast browser from Norwegian-based Opera Software.
At the heart of the new solution is the Zignal Enterprise Server, which enables interoperability between any number of subscribers, an IPTV head-end and a standard management interface that allows for near straight-from-the-box deployment of IPTV services. The solution can operate using any legacy system in an operator’s portfolio, and is designed to TeleManagement Forum standards for connectivity with leading CRM, OSS, NMS and BSS systems.
"We believe that the success of IPTV is based on understanding how to build a positive and fulfilling experience for the user, while supporting existing customer relationships and established business practices in service provisioning," said Gudjon Mar Gudjonsson, CEO of Zignal parent, broadband solutions provider and systems integrator Industria.
"Having looked at the needs of the average TV user, we've added a range of other novel features such as a personal profile reflecting individual user interests, a personalized user interface, integrated voting, reminder and messaging system, and a new level of parental control," he added.
